The Client Advisory & Accounting Services Accounting Specialist I is responsible for preparing and monitoring substantially all transaction classes and general ledger reconciliations for assigned firm clients. This position will be responsible for working in a team to help develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year-end and special projects, and support of client software systems. The Client Advisory & Accounting Services Accounting Specialist I will have contact with clients and client contacts, including other professional service providers.

 

Responsibilities

In the performance of their respective tasks and duties, all Team Members are expected to meet the following requirements:

 

• Work independently performing quality work within deadlines while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other Team Members and service providers.
• Have advanced computer skills, maintain the technical proficiency necessary to complete duties, and have excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with attention to detail.
• Be organized and able to work with multiple deadlines managing a variety of projects with diverse constituencies and environments, effectively managing time and resources.
• Be self-accountable by setting and maintaining goals and action items and following through with all commitments.
• Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with the Firm’s leadership team, other Team Members, clients, service providers, other agencies, and the general public.
• Maintain strict confidentiality; be honest, trustworthy, dependable, and flexible. Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity.
• Adhere to professional, ethical behavior, by committing to and following the client's Promise commitments and performance factors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or relevant field.
  • 3+ years of experience in US accounting, preferably in US public accounting or a similar client-facing role.
  • Strong understanding of US generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and practices, with proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis.
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on delivering accurate and timely work under tight deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
